What makes Trend Link The Recognized Leader in Trending? It's because at Canary Labs we designed our trending viewer from the ground up to be our premier product. So we spent many man-years of research and development to design Trend Link to be powerful yet easy to use. Most other trending software comes from companies where the trending was just an additional module in a suite of modules. They do the job, but just barely.

Trend Link makes it easy for you to get the data that you need and format it the way you want. It's easy to select the tags you want to view in your chart. Trend Link lets you select a server (on your local or on a remote computer), then allows you to browse through the tags to select the ones you want to view. You can even add multiple tags at once. Then drag and drop the tags and their scales to visually design your chart. Both real time and historical data can be viewed from the same chart, without having to reconfigure, reload, or switch screens. Just scroll to a different point in time to view your data. Colors, fonts, scaling, limits, formatting, grid lines and viewing orientation are some of the features that can easily be configured. Most customers are able to use Trend Link without lengthy training sessions.

Trend Link can get data from different data sources using data source modules. New data source modules are created as new industry standards are adopted. The latest data source to be released the is the OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA). Other supported data sources include the OPC Historical Data Access (OPC HDA), the OPC Data Access (OPC DA), and a direct data source for the Canary Enterprise Historian.

Trend Link is also an ActiveX control that can be embedded in other programs that accept ActiveX controls. A comprehensive set of automation interfaces are provided and documented. This lets you use scripting to control Trend Link through other applications. For example, Trend Link can be embedded into HMI displays and internet applications. Buttons can be programmed to have Trend Link display data so that plant operators don't have to be familiar with the program in order to use it.
