Trend Calc

Plant level data stored in a Historian is the first critical component of understanding how the organization is performing. The seamless integration with our Trend Calc allows organizations to translate the raw data into meaningful KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) without manual intervention or the need for additional vendor solutions.

Trend Calc's powerful and easy to use calculation editor, allows operators to quickly create process calculations leveraging the OPC tag properties already defined in the Canary Enterprise Historian. This greatly reduces the time required to create complex calculations.

Trend Calc has over 60 built-in mathematical and logical operators so anyone can perform efficiency analysis, real-time cost accounting and asset capacity usage. This information will provide a better understanding of the process and operation, resulting in the ability to make better, faster and more profitable decisions.

Trend Calc Administrator

The Trend Calculation administrator is used to configure and define the types of data transforms to perform. Input tags can be selected via browsing the OPC server. There are two types of groups, OPC DA and OPC HDA from which the calculations are defined.

OPC DA Group Features

  • Event driven calculation from one or more trigger tags
  • Trigger Delay (allows for synchronization of data)
  • Definable Timestamp source (to match timestamp of original data)
  • Supports Quality status through the calculations
  • Calculation Editor (including the browsing of input tags)

OPC HDA Group Features

  • Time interval or Trigger of Value Change
  • Uses OPC HDA Aggregates (i.e. Average, Sum, Min, Max)
  • Supports all server defined OPC HDA aggregates
  • Definable fields: description, engineering units, data type and default scaling
  • Supports Quality status through the calculations
  • Calculation Editor (including the browsing of input tags)

" As a trending tool, we like the flexibility in how its configured and the ease of use. Users can drag and drop to add trends to the chart and save charts for later recall.  The speed is a big plus, allowing users to quickly scan and find historical data they want to see.  Users can access overview charts and then quickly drill down to see detailed data. The biggest advantage is ease of use.  The user doesn't have to be a genius to figure things out. "
